Part-Time ECP Lead Teachers (ALL SBSUM Campuses)

JOB DESCRIPTION.

Second Baptist School Early Childhood Program (ECP) is seeking (in an ongoing manner) PART-TIME ECP LEAD TEACHERS for the 2024-2025 school year.

  • Position Title: Early Childhood Program Teacher
  • Reports To: Early Childhood Program Coordinator
  • Work Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Work Calendar: The last week of July through the SBSUM school year (mid-May).

JOB SUMMARY.

The ECP lead teacher cares for the needs of our youngest students. This individual is knowledgeable about child development and has patience in working with and caring for children. The ideal lead teacher is able to use creative ways to interact and engage with children in a loving, positive Christian environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES.

Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Supervise and ensure the safety of all students at all times.
  • Follow state licensing minimum standards and SBS policies.
  • Lead children in daily activities, including curricular lessons, centers, circle time, art projects, recess, snack time and lunch.
  • Create weekly lesson plans incorporating age-appropriate lessons and activities.
  • Change diapers or assist students in potty training if needed.
  • Complete bi-annual assessments of children’s development.
  • Maintain an orderly and clean classroom.
  • Post activities and photos in Brightwheel each day.
  • Maintain student attendance records.
  • Complete required annual training hours.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED.

To perform this job successfully, candidates must:

  • Have the strength and flexibility to lift an average child, work with children on the floor or at a child-size table, and physically assist children as needed.
  • Be a dedicated and loyal team member supporting all school activities and school-wide initiatives.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with the ability to be flexible and shift gears quickly based on class and school needs.
  • Be skilled in oral and written communication and have the ability to communicate effectively with parents.
  • Have a positive attitude and be a team player.
  • Be fluent in English.

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • A high school diploma or GED.

Preferred:

  • Previous child care experience or degree.
