Athletic Coordinator - 1463 Campus

JOB DESCRIPTION.

Second Baptist School University-Model (SBSUM) is currently seeking a full-time ATHLETIC COORDINATOR at our 1463 campus for the 2024-2025 school year.

  • Position Title: Athletic Coordinator
  • Location: 1463 Campus
  • Work Calendar: Eleven Month

The goal of the SBSUM Athletic Department is to provide an environment of competition, cooperation and teamwork for our students that glorifies God and provides valuable life lessons. Winning the contest is important to any competitor, but the lessons learned in the heat of competition are the most important attributes to be gained from the contest.

JOB SUMMARY.

The SBSUM athletic coordinator must be able to plan, organize and implement an appropriate program in a school environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their God-given potential. SBSUM offers a wide variety of teams to choose from and all students are encouraged to try out for any sport offered. Work is performed under the supervision of the dean of athletics.

RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES

Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to the following:

  • Communications Expectations:
    • Manage all communications and announcements for athletics on campus.
    • Coordinate and contribute to digital and print media, including media day(s), music library and photo library.
  • Calendar Management:
    • Manage the campus-level athletic calendar and coordinate with other school and organizational calendars.
    • Schedule fall, winter and spring competitions for all sports.
  • Team Transportation/Scheduling:
    • Serve as transportation coordinator for the campus, scheduling all transportation for athletic teams and managing the database of approved drivers.
    • Ensure all high school athletes are compliant with Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) through RankOne.
    • Manage the administrative responsibilities through RankOne for all varsity competitions.
  • Historian/Stats:
    • Manage score reporting in RankOne.
    • Maintain records, results and stats for the campus’ varsity teams.
  • Athletic Department Leadership:
    • Assist in planning, executing and evaluating athletic department events.
    • Assist the dean of athletics to innovatively advance the mission of the school through athletics.
  • Stipend Coaches:
    • Manage all athletic coaches by season and sport.
  • Pre-Grammar/Grammar Sports:
    • Prepare and communicate fall, winter and spring schedules to enrolled families.
    • Manage and assist in uniform distribution throughout the campus.

  • Perform other related work to accomplish the objectives of the total school program.

CANDIDATE SUMMARY.

We seek the following in qualified candidates:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Three or more years of coaching and athletic administration experience.
  • A strong Christian testimony and a calling to serve as a positive Christian role model to all students and families.
  • A heart to provide exceptional customer service to all members of the community.
  • A desire to lead and support all school-wide initiatives.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in technology with a working knowledge of Google Workspace.
  • Responsible stewardship of the school’s resources and a commitment to support the school’s fundraising efforts as able.
